𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚: “Top player” remains determined to join Liverpool despite fresh interest from Manchester United and Arsenal. Liverpool are reportedly still ahead in the battle to sign the Premier League star, whose contract is approaching its final stages.

Liverpool appear to be the frontrunners in the race to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, even as strong interest continues to come from Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur. The player, however, remains focused on a move to Anfield, showing no signs of wavering in his preference despite the growing competition for his signature.

Reports suggest that Liverpool have maintained consistent pursuit of Guehi, whose contract at Selhurst Park is running down. The England international has been one of Palace’s standout performers in recent seasons, but with his deal set to expire at the end of the campaign, several top clubs are circling in anticipation of a potential free transfer.

Manchester United are understood to be one of the key contenders for Guehi’s services. Journalist Graeme Bailey previously revealed to TBR Football that United could challenge Liverpool for the centre-back, particularly since the Reds were unable to secure his signing during the previous transfer window. The dynamic of the transfer race has evolved significantly since then, making United’s involvement even more serious.

Tottenham Hotspur, too, have reportedly entered the frame, with some sources claiming they might even be leading the chase at this stage. Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou is believed to be keen on adding a reliable, ball-playing defender to his backline, and Guehi’s profile fits the bill perfectly. However, despite these reports, it seems the player’s heart is still set on a move to Merseyside.

According to football insider Indy Kaila, Marc Guehi’s determination to join Liverpool remains firm. He views the club as an ideal destination for his next career step, particularly given the potential to play under a top manager and alongside world-class defenders. His admiration for the club’s history and ambition is said to be a major factor in his decision.

Liverpool’s interest in Guehi makes strategic sense. With Ibrahima Konaté’s contract approaching its final stages and Virgil van Dijk entering the twilight of his career, the Reds are in need of a reliable, young central defender who can lead their backline in the years to come. Guehi, at 25, offers both Premier League experience and long-term value, making him a logical target.

Manchester United, meanwhile, also have compelling reasons to push for his signing. The club has frequently rotated between defensive systems, including a back-three setup, and are searching for stability. Injuries to Lisandro Martínez and inconsistency from Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt have left United short of dependable options—something Guehi could help remedy immediately.

Former United striker Louis Saha has publicly backed his old club to move aggressively for Guehi before Liverpool seal the deal. He described the defender as a “top player and a leader,” urging United to pay even above market value if necessary. Saha praised Guehi’s calmness, communication, and consistency on the pitch, adding that such a composed defender is destined to play for a top club and compete for major trophies soon.
