I felt the team was exceptional today. From the opening moments, we imposed ourselves on the game, playing with confidence and creating several clear-cut opportunities.
Our start was particularly strong, and we showed real control and attacking intent. Honestly, we could have been two or even three goals ahead early on, but their goalkeeper made crucial saves to keep them in the contest.
Naturally, against a high-quality opponent, there will be phases where they take control. At times, they pushed us back and made us defend deeper than we would have liked.
Even so, our overall performance stood out. Both collectively and individually, the players stepped up, reaching what was arguably one of our highest levels this season.
Speaking about Eze’s goal, it was all about technique and execution. The way he connected with the ball was so clean—you could even hear the strike—and the reaction from his teammates said everything about the quality of that moment.
Their goalkeeper continued to make a big impact throughout. In a competition like the Champions League, when you create that many chances and don’t convert them, it always leaves the door open for anything to happen, especially with the game still wide open in the second half.
Fortunately, we had a decisive moment thanks to Declan Rice, who produced something special to secure the win when it mattered most.
His finish, with that controlled curl, highlighted his quality and technique. Looking ahead, the next match against a strong side will be a completely different challenge, so we’ll enjoy this result briefly before shifting our full attention to preparing for Sunday’s final, while managing players carefully after their heavy workload.
